Charles I Silver Halfcrown, Tower mint, struck under Parliament 1642-9
Group III, type 4, similar to type 2 but of cruder style, mint mark sun
Obverse: King on horseback facing left
Reverse: Oval and garnished shield
Struck on a fairly round full flan with a superb portrait for this rather cruder issue, a bold good very fine.
35 mm in diameter, 14.9 grams.
