Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields, interlinked pairs of Cs in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG. BR.FRA. ET.HIB. REX.
Edge inscribed in raised letters widely spaced between grained borders, .DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN*

A very pleasing dark tone, about very fine, the reverse better.
40 mm in diameter, 30grams.
* In contrast to the thinly veiled threat of the previous administration, the edge lettering translates as: ‘An ornament and a safeguard’
