Obverse: Third crowned armoured half-length bust facing right, holding orb and sceptre, with beaded circles and Latin legend surrounding: IACOBVS. D;G; MA; BRI; FRA; ET; HI; REX.
Reverse: Crowned quartered shield of arms, I to left, R to right, with Latin legend surrounding: FACIAM. EOS. IN. GENTEM. VNAM.

Struck on a large full size flan from slightly worn dies, minor flaw by the orb, otherwise a bold good very fine with fully original lustrous surfaces.
