Obverse: Crowned thistle with "M-R" either side, with Latin legend surrounding: +MARIA D • G • R • SCOTORVM, (Mary by the grace of God Queen of Scots).
Reverse: Voided saltire cross with crown at centre and cinquefoils either side with Latin legend surrounding: ♣OPPIDVM EDINBVRGI

An evenly toned coin, showing the usual weakness for the issue, very fine.
*The cinquefoils on the reverse of the coin, refer to the Earl of Arran, who was acting as Regent whilst Mary was still under age.
