Edward VII, 1902 Matt Proof Set, Coronation year "Short set"
Consisting of; Gold Sovereign and Half-Sovereign, silver Crown, Half-crown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, all housed within the original Royal Mint red leatherette case with gold block crest and lettering.
All practically as struck, with pleasing original matt finish and tone. The case in very good condition, not all sets came in the leatherette box, this was an extra cost at the time.
*with a mintage of only 7,057 sets, which is over 1,000 less sets than the five pound down "long" matt proof set. This year is the only time a matt finish set has been produced for a coronation year.
