Four Gold and nine Silver coins long Set, to celebrate the Coronation of King Edward VII on the 9th of August 1902.
Comprising of: Proof Gold Five Pounds, Two Pounds, Sovereign and Half-Sovereign, Proof Silver Crown, Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, (13).
All housed within the original Royal Mint red leatherette case with gold block crest and lettering.
S.PS9.
An uncirculated set, from the unusual sand blasted dies, some minor contact marks/hairlines on a few of the coins, as often the case with these ‘Matt finishes’, the reverse of the Gold Proof Five Pounds having a hair-line mark above St George’s head, otherwise a pleasing set, the gold with a good amount of lustre, the silver with similar matching tones and iridescence.

*With a mintage of only 8,066 sets. This year is the only time a matt finish set has ever been produced thus far for a Coronation. The engraver was George William De Saulles who also produced Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Royal Mint medallions of 1897 with the same matt finish.
