Reverse: St George slaying the dragon with sword, broken lance to lower left, horse with short tail, tiny B P without stops in exergue for the engraver Benedetto Pistrucci, date below (1884).

A superb looking example, with a proof-like appearance.
Has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS 62, with a Blue Shipwreck Certification label stating: SS. Egypt.
NGC Certification number: 6944921-003.
*The SS. Egypt sank in the English Channel after colliding with the French ship SS. Seine in 1922. She sank with her over 1 million pounds worth of gold and silver ingots and wooden boxes of gold sovereigns. 15 passengers and 71 crew lost their lives during the sinking and 252 were saved. The 1932 salvage is thought to have recovered less than 1,000 sovereigns, with some 14,000 still at the bottom of the ocean.
