Obverse: Crowned armoured half-length figure of King facing left, holding upright sword and palm branch, value XX in right field behind, with Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding: (mint mark Plume) CAROLVS. D: G: MAG: BRI: FR: ET. HIB:ER: REX. 
Reverse: Declaration inscription in continuous scroll at centre, RELIG: PROT / LEG: ANG / LIBER: PAR/ 1644/OX, date below, (1644), three Oxford plumes above, Latin legend commences upper left within beaded and toothed border surrounding: .EXVRGAT DEVS. DISSIPENTVR. INIMICI.

Good very fine to nearly extremely fine in parts, with a most pleasing deep golden old cabinet tone, scarce in such a nice grade. A very pleasing example, of a civil war period gold coin.
