Henry VIII, (1509-47), Fine Gold Angel of six shillings and eight pence. First coinage (1509-26), Mintmark Portcullis Crowned, (both sides).
Obverse: St Michael slaying the dragon, halo breaks inner- beaded circle, with Latin legend and beaded border surrounding: hEnRIC'x VIII9x DI'x GRA'x REX'x AGL'x Zx FRxx.
Reverse: Sailing ship sailing to the right, quartered shield of arms at centre, h and rose either side of cross above, with Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding: PERx CRVCE'x TVA'x SALVAx nOSx XPE'x RED'.
