Obverse: First laureate head facing right, elephant below bust, with Latin legend and toothed border surrounding: CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA
Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields, emblematic sceptres in angles, four interlinked Cs at centre, date (1664) either side of top crown, with Latin legend and toothed border surrounding: .MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX.

30 mm in diameter, 16.7 grams.
Lustrous with an extremely well struck portrait for the issue, minor contact marks, a little red wax within the R of CAROLVS, most likely from being used as a plate coin, from the late 19th Century/early 20th Century, practically extremely fine, seldom seen in this grade.
