Imperatorial Coinage, Sextus Pompey, Silver Denarius. 
Minted in Sicily, struck (37-36 BC). 
Obverse: MAG [PIVS IMP ITER], Head of Pompey the Great facing right, jug behind and a lituus before.
Reverse: PRÆF / CLAS ET O[RAE / MA]RIT EX [S C], Neptune standing left, wearing diadem, his right foot on a prow, holding aplustre and cloak, the Catanaean brothers, (Anapias and Amphinomus), standing either side, bearing their parents on their shoulders.

3.7 grams, 19 mm in diameter.
Good very fine with a pleasing old cabinet tone, showing a very good portrait, a popular type from the famous Pompey!
