Imperatorial Coinage, Sextus Pompey, Silver Denarius. 
Minted in Sicily, struck (37-36 BC). 
Obverse: MAG [PIVS IMP ITER], Head of Pompey the Great facing right, jug behind and a lituus before.
Reverse: PRÆF / CLAS ET O[RAE / MA]RIT EX [S C], Neptune standing left, wearing diadem, his right foot on a prow, holding aplustre and cloak, the Catanaean brothers, (Anapias and Amphinomus), standing either side, bearing their parents on their shoulders.

3.8 grams, 19 mm in diameter.
Some surface scratches most likely from excavation, a pleasing old cabinet tone, showing a good portrait, a popular type from the famous Pompey!
