 Third coinage (C. 1637-42) type 1
Struck in the “rocker” mill and screw press, designed by Nicholas Briot
Obverse: Armoured King on horseback trotting left, with flowing sash and upright sword, grassy ground below with plain exergue, Latin legend with lozenge stops and beaded borders surrounding both sides, mint mark thistle with .B. above: CAROLVS. D:G. MAGN. BRITANN. FRANC. ET. HIBERN. REX. 
Reverse: Crowned square topped and lightly garnished quartered shield of Stuart arms, with the Latin legend surrounding: QVÆ. DEVS. CONIVNXIT. NEMO. SEPARET. Terminal mark thistle and .B. 
29.35 grams (453.0 grns)

Extremely rare in such a superb condition, with a really good provenance trail.
Has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS 61 *Top of the population in either NGC or PCGS. The only other two with NGC being graded as VF.
